Downtown Design and Preservation Plan
New Oxford, Pennsylvania

We provided planning and development analysis for New Oxford, a small town between York and Gettysburg. On a team with Thomas Comitta Associates, we assessed potential historic districts, drafted design and development guidelines, and provided policy recommendations. The final report included development scenarios, analytical graphics, and a glossary of architectural and planning term
Manheim Design Guidelines
Manheim, Pennsylvania

After a fire destroyed a portion of the town square, the Borough of Manheim engaged us to create standards for the design of infill projects. To help citizens look more effectively at the square, we organized community meetings and produced a set of design guidelines. This project received the annual Downtown Physical Improvements Award from the Pennsylvania Downtown Center.
Lancaster Neighborhood Improvements
Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Working with the Lancaster Campaign and our neighbors in the northwestern part of the city, we provided recommendations for streetscape improvements and traffic calming measures. We illustrated how neighborhood character could be improved by converting streets from one-way to two-way traffic and redesigning intersections to be more attractive and functional.
Downtown Lancaster Business Directory
Lancaster, Pennsylvania

For the Downtown Merchants’ Association, we designed a business directory located on historic Penn Square in the heart of Lancaster. Built of bronze and aluminum with heavy glass panels, the directory kiosk was designed to allow for regular updates. The structure is capped with a copper roof characteristic of many local buildings.
