Project Architect

Description
As Project Architect, you will have hands on experience with all phases of projects working directly with the firm's principal, contractors, and clients on a wide variety of duties and exposure. This is an opportunity for growth and in-depth learning at a small, respected firm. Diverse, high-quality projects include museums, historic preservation, restoration, new construction, custom residential, town planning/urban design, from Maine to Mid-Atlantic.

Responsibilities include:
  • Performing survey, documentation and assessment of architectural conditions, including field measurements and description of type of construction and finishes
  • Working with the principal, develop preliminary project and design intent; accomplish schematic design, design development, and construction documents
  • Performing building code analysis and reviews with jurisdictional agencies
  • Coordinating consultants and being the coordinator of construction administration support for selected projects
  • Processing shop drawings/submittals
  • Advising on various aspects of project technical detailing, drawings layout, and quality control
  • Preparing special renderings or presentation drawings, both hand-drawn and CAD 3D

Requirements:

  • B.Arch or M.Arch
  • 3-5 + years of experience in architectural work
  • Excellent computer and graphic skills, AutoCAD, MS Office
  • Ability to work alone and as a member to a team
  • Ability to complete a range of drawing and architectural tasks
  • Experience in assembling detailed construction solutions based on design intent, planning and development of construction documents as competitive bidding documents
  • Experience with Form-Z, Sketch-up and other 3-D programs helpful
  • Interest in historic preservation, planning and urban design helpful
  • Interest in professional growth
  • Solid firm commitment essential
  • Professional registration is not required, but tracking toward registration is preferred
